Cold Prevention

In addition to coronavirus colds seem to be circulating around! Here are a few tips that may help protect against sickness this winter:

Eat a well balance diet including foods from all food groups.


Limit alcohol and foods high in added sugar and saturated fats. These foods can work against your immune system.


Keep hydrated. Hydration can maintain moisture in your respiratory system which protects against pathogens.


Eat 7-11 servings of fruit and vegetables daily. Fruits and vegetables contain powerful immune boosting chemicals.


Load up on garlic – not only will people keep their distance but garlic can also help your immune system.


Eat plenty of yogurt – yogurt and other probiotic foods add healthy bacteria to your gastrointestinal tract which will then protect against bad bacteria.


Keep active – lean muscle mass and keeping active boosts the immune system.
